48V 10kWh LiFePO₄ Solar Battery for Replacing Diesel Generator Backup Power System

LiFePO₄ battery technology is selected in these systems mainly for operational stability over extended cycling. Under typical solar usage, batteries charge during daylight hours and discharge every evening. Compared with lead-acid batteries, lithium iron phosphate chemistry maintains capacity more consistently under repeated deep discharge conditions, making it suitable for systems expected to operate every day rather than occasionally.
In practice, many users begin with lead-acid storage or diesel generators. After several years of operation, three common issues usually appear:
- Reduced usable battery capacity after frequent deep cycles
- Increasing fuel and maintenance costs from generators
- Interruptions caused by unstable grid availability
At this stage, system upgrades often shift toward 48V lithium storage platforms, allowing solar energy to function as a primary energy source instead of backup power.

System Operation in Typical Installations
A standard configuration includes:
PV Panels → Hybrid Inverter → 48V Lithium Battery → Loads
During daytime operation:
- Solar generation supplies active loads directly
- Excess energy charges the battery
During evening hours or grid interruptions:
- Stored energy powers lighting, refrigeration, communication devices, and small commercial equipment.
This operating pattern means the battery experiences regular charge and discharge cycles, which influenced design priorities such as thermal stability, protection logic, and long service life.

For no city power areas, the battery pack can be charged by solar panels and used for night lighting; For the areas that city power is expensive, the battery pack can be charged during the electricity valley value period, and used at the peak power period; For the areas which power off from time to time, the battery pack can be used as UPS, to avoid information loss caused by sudden power outage.
